PLD-1 & PLD-2 Hardware

The Passive End of Line Device (PLD-1) and (PLD-2) are used for monitoring the loudspeaker wiring of constant voltage speaker lines. The PLD is presented in two variants to accommodate the different characteristics of the amplifiers. The VA-8600 and VA-8600c use the PLD-1, and the VA-8150CV and VA-4300CV use the PLD-2. These devices must be used with their correct host device for proper operation and reporting. PLD-1's have a white lead. PLD-2's have a yellow lead.

Please see the PLD Manual for further information on installation of the device. Refer to the PLD Wiring Topologies section for important details on installation and wiring.

When PLD's are being used, Recorded audio messages or audio content with continuous or swept tonal components (e.g. alert tones) should be band limited at 15 kHz during recording.

The PLD is intended to be placed at the end of a speaker line attached to one of the amplifier output channels. It is restricted to 70V and 100V constant voltage configurations and up to 300 Watts (100V) and 150W (70V) output power.

The PLD can be attached to a surface using the two mounting holes or with double sided polyethylene foam tape.

In contrast to most other devices in the Vocia product range, the PLD does not require setting of a Device ID, an IP Address or require a network connection.
