The second checkbox below the Paging Mode section is called Delayed Release. This is used when live paging into a Zone is problematic, and must be prevented. A Delayed Release Page enables the user to record a page which is then played out after a short delay. To perform a Delayed Release page the Push to Talk (PTT) button is pressed, the user talks into the microphone and when they have finished they release the PTT button.
The Paging Station will then wait five seconds (by default) before the Page is broadcast to the applicable Zones. During this time the user has the ability to Cancel the Page if required via the lower soft key on the Paging Station in question or by pressing the PTT button. The wait time of the Paging Stations can be changed in the Universe Properties dialog window in the Cancel Delay text box.
