TTS Voice Management
The TTS-1e and TTS-1nce require voice packages to be purchased and installed, whereas the TTS-2 has 140 voice packages pre-installed on it. Please choose the appropriate instructions for your device.
TTS-1e and TTS-1nce
The Text to Speech Processor is capable of supported many different Voice Packages. These voice packages are purchased separately from the TTS-1e hardware.
The Select Voice Package button is used to import Voice Packages from the TTS-1e into the Vocia software. A Voice Package consists of a language, locale and a voice. In the example image shown below we have two voice packages installed. The first is called Simona RO-RO; This means that the voice will be female, the language will be Romanian, and the locale is Romania. The second voice package is called Fiona EN-SC; this means that the voice will be female, the language will be English, and the locale will be Scotland. A full list of supported Voice Packages is displayed under the Voice Package tab in the TTS Sequences dialog window.
Updating Voice Font Process:
-
One Voice Font can be updated to multiple TTS-1e or TTS-1nce devices at the same time.
-
the Select Voice Package button is used to browse to the storage location of their Voice File.
-
Once the package has been selected it will be validated its Status will indicate as Add Pending.
-
The user must then select the TTS-1e they want to update and then select the Add Voice button.
-
Additional TTS-1e devices can be selected and added to the update with the Add Voice button.
-
Once all the required TTS-1e devices have been selected the Update Devices button is used to transfer the Voice File to the TTS-1e.

Note that after a firmware update the TTS-1e Voice fonts will need to be re-loaded to the device. This is separate from the Send Configuration which must also be performed after the voices have been loaded.
TTS-2
The preinstalled voice packages are recognizable by a tick mark when looking at the voice list on the Voice tab in the TTS Sequences page. The columns can be sorted by Name, TTS-2, Language, and Description by pressing that portion of the header.

If a TTS-1e is in the system the legacy voices will be moved to the top of the list. If one of those are chosen it must still be installed first per the TTS-1 instructions in the previous section.
TTS-2 Voice List
A list of the voices available on the TTS-2 is available below grouped by language with gender designations after the voice name. The first 3 letters are the abbreviation for the language, followed by 2-letter abbreviation(s) for the region/country. The language Description shown in the TTS Sequences Voice tab. The voice's gender is included here (for information only) but is not included in the list in the software.
